 | The staff and students of Spartan Health Sciences University, School of Medicine have been welcome members of the community of Vieux Fort, since it first opened its doors to medical students from around the world, seeking quality medical training in a multi-cultural and ethnically diverse environment. | It was granted a Charter and Licence by the Government of Saint Lucia and is Accredited by Monitoring Committee, a body appointed by the Government of Saint Lucia, to ensure that it adheres to standards that are compatible with international medical standards. Since the establishment of the Spartan Health Sciences University, School of Medicine in Vieux Fort, it has seen over one thousand five hundred graduates pass through its gates to enter the medical profession, specialists in their own particular field of medical practice. It is even accredited with producing one Nobel Laureate in the field of medicine. The benefits from an institution like Spartan Health Sciences University in Saint Lucia derive not only from the direct contribution to the economic development of Saint Lucia.
