Dr. Pena Joined Spartan as Lecturer in the Department of Pathology (2005). He holds MBBS from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health sciences (2002) with a gold medal in Pathology. After his MBBS he worked as Locum Senior House officer in the department of orthopedics in United Kingdom. During his internship and House officer position he was actively involved in teaching medical students.

Working as a lecturer at Spartan he developed his teaching skills under the guidance of Dr. Waldez (Head of Pathology) and Dr. S.Viswanath (Head of Anatomy). In 2008, He was appointed as Senior House Officer in department of Surgery (vascular unit) at Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Trinidad. During his tenure at EWMSC he was actively involved in teaching medical students from UWI Trinidad Campus since the surgical unit was a teaching unit. Working at Spartan and EWMSC he developed his teaching skill in classroom setting and clinical bedside teaching. Finally in 2009, He joined back as senior lecturer at Spartan health Sciences University and got promoted to Assistant Professor in department of Pathology in 2010.

During his tenure at Spartan he was actively involved in administration of the school. He was appointed chairman of Library committee in 2009. With the team of librarians and feedback from multiple sources he was involved in developing and evaluating library resources. In 2012, he was appointed as Administrative Assistant Dean.
